Charlotte Checkers: Free admission ticket

The Charlotte Checkers are hosting a community blood drive this weekend, and all donors are guaranteed a free admission ticket.

April is Organ Transplant Month. An average of 79 people receive transplants each day, requiring several units of blood per person through transfusion.

The blood must be compatible, however. So, blood drives like these can be real life-savers.

Blood donations go to the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, a non-profit organization which serves the community by supplying high quality blood at the lowest possible cost.

Donors can earn their ticket at the Time Warner Cable Arena, located at 333 East Trade Street in Charlotte, Saturday April 6, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

For more information on the blood drive, call 704-972-4700.
